CALL TO QUARTERLY MEETING

Join us for our annual gathering at Temescal Canyon in Pacific Palisades. A rich program has been prepared by SCQM Ministry and Counsel and Executive Committees on the theme “Where is God in All This? Peacemaking as a Spiritual Practice.” Participants, adults and teens, will be invited to express what frustrates or paralyzes us as we support each other in restoring the Quakerly resilience that strengthens Friends to take action according to our leadings.

Be sure to be present on Friday evening when we will have an opportunity to process our experiences of national politics and the election held 3 days earlier with a presentation by Tim Barner from FCNL. Interest groups, a threshing session on Pacific Friends Outreach Society/PYM Permanent Site, and sacred circle dancing are among other planned activities.

We will continue to offer “buddies” to newcomers and others who request them, as well as transportation around Temescal Canyon for those with mobility difficulties. Our children will enjoy a special program designed just for them, and we look forward to our teens having time both with the adults and on their own. We’re eager to see the fresh new dorms on campus. Our arrangements clerk and registrar provide information about that elsewhere in your Quarterly Report. You’ll also find some new activities in our schedule. We hope you’ll try them out and let us know how you like them!

I look forward to seeing you at Temescal Canyon!

Mary Ann Percy, SCQM Clerk
